Mrs. Usha Mishra, Founder & Managing Trustee of National Association for the Blind Employment & Training (NABET) India and a strong advocate for equal rights of handicap people and underprivileged women. She also is an external member of the Internal Complain Committee (ICC) of Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA). She is an MBA along with Graduation in Science and Post-Graduation in PR & Journalism.
NABET is a registered NGO committed to provide employment to the visually impaired/ handicapped and weaker sections of the society. Providing employment to trained visually challenged people by providing training for developing IT/ITES skills. The Government of Haryana awarded NABET as “The Best NGO to Implement Govt Practices”. Also, The National University of Singapore & DBS Bank rated NABET as World’s Top 30 NGO’s.
In the last 30 years of social work and service to humanity, she has brought modern concepts & technology at workplace for the women and handicaps. Her unique experiment of creating an inclusive workplace has received accolades both in government and private sector. Her work has been a beacon of hope for the most under represented community in Indian society. Her efforts have won various recognitions, including the Washington DC’s ‘Global Good Fund’; London’s ‘Queen’s Young Leader’ award; Leonard Cheshire Award – for Largest Employer of Blind / Handicapped in Delhi NCR and University of Oklahoma – USA – Fellowship Award.
