Our Client is a non-profitable organization devoted for the world of sports nationally and internationally. They have deployed an application through which its member and internal team can work together on various programs.
This application built upon MOSS 2007, which they used to manage number of business processes include fundraising/development, finance/accounting, human resource and document management. It also provides a collaboration between the members.
But needs outgrew the existing implementation. MOSS 2007 was unable to keep up with changes, especially in the area of security and user permission. They needed a solution that would continue to support internal needs, enables member to collaborate in a secure environment.
Solution
After thorough analysis, Octaware suggested them to migrate to SharePoint 2010. By migrating the client to SharePoint 2010, Octaware was able to standardize the look and feel across the team sites and provide better security.
This included using common site templates for the architecture disciplines, strategic business units, and management, and team sites for information sharing and collaboration. This migration also provided an opportunity to clean up and tag old data for ease of finding and sharing. Document management capabilities, including version control, were utilized.
Internal Team and members are able to find documents quickly, and store documents more effectively for future collaboration. With the addition of metadata, the members are able to classify their documents accurately and find information more effortlessly.
The client’s new architecture is highly scalable and allows the organization to expand beyond collaboration sites using SharePoint 2010.
